The role that each band member plays during performances has changed dramatically throughout the bands history. Radiohead was founded under the name On a Friday in 1986 and performed local shows in the Oxford area under this name until 1991. Radiohead toured extensively across the United States and Europe in support of their debut album, Pablo Honey, and in spite of conflict that arose within the band during this time their performances were credited for the relative success of Pablo Honey and their debut single Creep. Radiohead toured widely in support of The Bends and its singles, but the album did not perform as well commercially as its predecessor had. Radiohead released Creep as their debut single in 1992, and it later appeared on their first album, Pablo Honey (1993). Creep is one of Radioheads biggest hits, and has been used in various media as well as having been covered by a number of musical artists. During its initial release, Creep was not a chart success. However, upon rerelease in 1993, it became a worldwide hit. Attendees of Radioheads early gigs often exhibited little interest in the bands other songs, causing the band to react against Creep and play it less often during the midtolate 1990s. In 1998, halfway through their OK Computer tour, the band dropped the song from setlists altogether. Creep was not played live again until 2001, but it has since reappeared several times on the bands live sets. Military training was an important part of the early curriculum at Ohio State, and a band was formed to provide music for the cadets to drill to. The first appearance of the OSU marching band was in 1896. Gustav Bruder, a professional musician with military band experience, was hired to lead the band. Under Bruder, the band grew in size and began playing and marching for all military and athletic events. The OSUMB grew over the years, from 100 members in 1920 to 225 members today.
