Dave Matthews Band Tickets – Dmb Joins Top Of Ticket For Mile High Music Festival

Attendees at the 2010 Mile High Music Festival are in for a treat as both the Dave Matthews Band and Jack Johnson will be headlining. The festival is set for Aug. 14-15, with DMB taking the stage on the later date. Other bands currently on the books include My Morning Jacket, Train, Weezer and Phoenix. The Mile High Music Festival will take place at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park near Denver, Colo. This is not the only event DMB has scheduled this year; the band is currently in full-swing tour mode. In other Dave Matthews Band news, PR Newswire is reporting that Taylor Guitars is set to release a specially designed acoustic guitar called the Dave Matthews Signature Model (DMSM). It is based on the singer’s “number one guitar,” which is a Taylor 914ce and features several special designs. It was crafted from Indian rosewood, has beautiful abalone inlays and displays some of Matthews’ very own hand-sketched designs.

One of the more notable etchings is the word “Grux,” which is a reference to the band’s fallen saxophone player, LeRoi Moore. Fans can rest assured that the guitar is the real deal, as it comes complete with a certificate of authenticity signed by Matthews himself. Longtime Dave Matthews Band fans will certainly give you a detailed lecture on the band’s storied history, most of whom were likely avid followers of the group during their early days as a jam band making their way around the college circuit. Their debut effort with the RCA label Under the Table and Dreaming rocketed the college campus crooners to immediate national stardom, buoyed by the success of the singles “What Would You Say,” “Ants Marching” and “Satellite.”

This was not the end of the road for the Dave Matthews Band, as they weren’t about to vanish into one-hit-wonder obscurity. The band followed up their initial success on the charts with Crash, Live at Red Rocks and the much more ambitious Before These Crowded Streets. That was all before the year 2000 hit.  The Dave Matthews Band started going in several different directions at the start of the new decade; Everyday and Busted Stuff were released early on, but fans also took an interest in the Lilywhite Sessions, an unreleased set of recordings that was much darker than much of the band’s previous works.

The Dave Matthews Band also concentrated on releasing several live albums, which are consistently popular with fans, while the group’s frontman even ventured out to work on a solo album. The band’s recent effort Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King arrived in June 2009 and has the band touring heavily in support of it.
