Womens Status in FM Radio Stations

Womens Status in FM Radio Stations

$113.11

This study aims at examining representation, experience, practice, role and challenges of women journalists who work in FM radio stations in Addis Ababa using Feminist Communication Theories; Critical Mass, Glass Ceiling and Standpoint theory.Analysis of data showed that there are smaller numbers of women journalists than men journalists in the six stations. Additionally, private stations have better representation of women journalists than government stations. The research also finds out that fewer women reached senior management positions. The findings also suggest that young and welleducated women dominated the stations and also majority of women journalists have less than five years of professional experience. Women journalists widely assumed that they have a different perspective than men journalists in terms of selecting newsworthy items and story sources, reporting styles and changing the negative portrayal of women in the media. Women journalists claim that they faced difficulties in relation to their gender, as many accepted them first as women then as professionals. Radial (Radio)

Radial (Radio)

$79.66

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In radio, evenlyspaced points along evenlyspaced radials or lines through a common point on a map, are used to determine average elevation above mean sea level (AMSL) within a radio stations coverage area (including broadcast stations and mobile phone towers, among others). This in turn determines height above average terrain (HAAT), which greatly affects a stations range (more so than effective radiated power), and potential for interference with other stations. Stations at low frequencies like shortwave and the AM broadcasting band also require grounding or earthing wires to be buried in the soil in a radial pattern, in order to have a proper ground plane. These wires are also called radials, ground radials, grounding radials, or earthing radials. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. The YPMBs Squids section creates large cardboard props for halftime shows. The Squids evolved from the Appoges (pronounced p od z, after appoggiatura, a grace note) of the 1980s and 1990s, who handled props but also carried their own instruments (frisbees, stuffed giraffes, lounge chairs).
