Do you think that people in marching band and regular band are nerds/wierd??

im a normal teen girl. im in band and marching. i hate it when people call me names because of it!!!!!! i play flute and would never give it up for anyone. what do you think???

I love marching band and I do not care who thinks I am a band nerd.

When I was in 4th grade playing the trumpet for the first time, I had no idea where it would take me. When I was in High School, the Stage Band I was in went to Hawaii and I got to play in a jazz fest in the famous Hawaiian shell. I didn’t have to pay a penny. We worked at car washes and such to raise the money.

In high school I first learned to march. Alot of people around me compained it was too hard…boo hoo…I thought it was great to move and play.

Later at College level, I joined the University of Washington Marching Band. The Football team was really good and went to bowl games in those years…..Everytime they went to a bowl game, they took the Marching Band with them!!! Wow! free trips! Went to Disneyland twice when the team went to the Rose Bowl. Went to Florida when the team won the Orange Bowl. NIce beaches! Went to a Freedom Bowl too!

The best thing? NOt a penny out of my pocket. All totally paid for. I said “Let those other people laugh at the ‘band nerd’ who got to do all that stuff.” Where did they get to go?? No where!

I love the pep music. I love the feeling of being part of the big team making formations on the field. I love the roar of the crowd.

I love it still. After graduating as a music major, I still play in the Husky Alumni Band and have a blast every year (thinking about all those people who called me a band nerd).
