Kauffman Stadium Tickets – Sports And Music Invade Kansas City This Spring
Baseball season is upon us once again, and that means excitement is in the air for residents of Kansas City, Mo. The MLB’s Kansas City Royals are fired up and ready to go after a long offseason spent rebuilding, and the Royals will take their act to Kauffman Stadium this month to prove their worth as the best of the American League’s Central Division. While baseball fans revel in heated athletic action this spring, music will also blossom in Kansas City in the ensuing months as several artists kick off summer tours.
For those with Kauffman Stadium tickets to baseball games this season, MLB fans can watch the Royals’ long list of sluggers take to the baseball diamond for intense stadium matchups. Central Division rivals the Detroit Tigers will be rolling into Kauffman Stadium on April 5 for an Opening Day melee, and baseball fans will flock to the stadium to get a piece of the action as baseball season kicks off in style.
The Royals have been busy at spring training in Surprise, Ariz. for the month of March, and after playing several preseason games, the regular season will commence with a home game against Johnny Damon and the Tigers on April 5. Damon is a new and very welcomed addition to the Detroit Tigers this season, coming off a World Series win with the New York Yankees in ’09. The left fielder will return to Kauffman Stadium, where he played with the Royals from 1995-2000, on April 5 for an Opening Day matchup against his old team, and that won’t be the last the Royals will see from him.
Two days later on April 7, the Royals and Tigers will square off on the baseball field once again, and all eyes will be on pitcher Zack Greinke to fend off the Tigers from an early season victory. The Royals’ pitcher had an incredible season last year and even won the American League Cy Young Award in 2009, and he’ll wind up to strike out the Tigers once again this April as the start of the MLB season gets well underway.
While baseball fans clad in blue and white will storm the field at Kauffman Stadium this spring to partake in the Kansas City Royals action, music fans will instead flock to Kansas City’s Uptown Theatre, where celebrated music act Train will invade the big stage on April 6. Train is having a phenomenal year so far in 2010 with the help of their fifth studio album Save Me San Francisco, and the chorus of the catchy single “Hey, Soul Sister” will resonate through the halls of Uptown Theatre when this Northern California-based band comes steamrolling into Kansas City in April.
Train has been a mainstream success in the rock industry since the late 1990s, using a roots rock style to appeal to the masses. The band’s first hit single “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” established Train as a bona fide musical success, and other songs like “When I Look to the Sky” have helped to make Train a hot commodity on the touring circuit over the past few years. Train’s performance on April 6 in Kansas City is a much-anticipated draw to the Missouri music scene, and fans have been lining up to get tickets to this performance for weeks.
No matter whether it’s sports or music action that Missourians are looking to find this spring, they’re both available in April as several acts heat up the entertainment scene in Kansas City.
